Hall Construction Services Limited are proud to have collaborated with Volvo Construction Equipment to test a pre-production version of their new A60H articulated dumper truck.
The pre-production machine joined the company’s fleet of A40 dumper trucks working at Bantycock Open Cast Gypsum Mine, located on the outskirts of Newark, Nottinghamshire, where over 2.8 million cubic meters of earth are being mined annually. A £25 million 5 year contract was signed in September 2016 to mine the only gypsum open cast mine in the United Kingdom, providing the high purity mineral to the Saint Gobain group.

The new articulated hauler, featuring a load capacity of 55 tonnes, will be the largest produced by Volvo when it enters production. Powered by a mighty 16 litre Volvo engine with 639hp, the massive truck operates effortlessly at speeds of up to 55km/h.
Martyn Brawn, Infrastructure Projects Manager for Volvo Construction Equipment, commented “We wanted to put the A60H through its paces in a real-world environment and seek feedback from Hall Construction Services. We were especially interested to see how well the machine performed from a productivity and driver comfort perspective”.
The new piece of mobile plant is finishing its final phase of UK testing and deliveries will commence later this year.
